Remember the rise of UGG boots? The first time I saw them (way back in junior high!), was at the Cheesecake Factory in Seattle and this very stylish european man walked in the door wearing a B&W checkered scarf and furry tan boots. I immediately asked him the brand and added these “UGG” boots to my Christmas list. Once the internet broke a year later due to flooding of orders (or maybe because it was dial up), I knew my forecasting skills were pretty much on par and I’ve enjoyed predicting the latest trends (including interior style) ever since. #toot-toot
Here’s a look at some of the latest looks I’ve been loving. Although, many of them are not so new, I still think they have a while until something better comes along. With Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week right around the corner, you know a new dress code will be in order. So I just love this look! Not only is a Chambray shirt a closet staple, but they can be pretty affordable too – the one I have here is from Old Navy. This shirt/sweater combo is very polished, yet fun and can even be edgy, as seen is this awesome sequin number I scored at Willow and Clay. I’ve noticed this combo popping up a lot lately and I definitely don’t hate it.
Bright colors are back in full force and I couldn’t be more thrilled! There is a current wave right now of monochromatic neutrals, with a pop of color, and I think adding a bright clutch, nail color, or both, to an ensamble is just what the FashionPolice ordered. I’ve been on the hunt for a bright pink bag and my dreams came true when I found this adorable Kate Spade cross body. Still don’t believe me, just take a peak at Coach’s Spring 2015 collection.
These New Balance shoes are everything! And there’s plenty more where they came from because old school is clearly making a come back. Much like my Toms, I wear these everywhere I want to add a little style, but keep comfort the front runner. They also clearly go with everything.
Switching gears a bit to home styling.. Have you noticed that people are really into less and less clutter these days i.e. minimal, clean and white living spaces? Much like the Scandanivan lifestyle – modern and simple. I totally applaud this aesthetic.
Check back in after New York Fashion week, where I’ll break down my favorites from the shows!
