On weekends, I spend a few hours working at Mockingbird Domestics, just south of downtown Austin. This place is your one-stop-shop for locally sourced fine crafted furniture and home accessories. I love the modern meets rustic aesthetic of the store and REALLY enjoy getting crafty with the window displays and floor decor. Here I had a little chalkboard fun and created a warm fireplace to fit within the mantle near the front windows to show a little holiday cheer.
I love a good party… and by that I mean I love a good party with A LOT of tasty treats. Therefore, since winter is the season of gathering with family and friends, I decided to host a little holiday party at my 1,065 sq ft loft (talk about getting cozy), to get into the spirit. I asked friends to bring their favorite seasonal dish to share with everyone, while I cooked up a few of my own (and of course, some holiday cocktails as well).
This pinecone cheese ball was super easy to make and a quick way to add some holiday flair to the assortment. From the looks of my kitchen by the end of the night, everyone came hungry and left happy, and I can’t wait to do it again next year! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
Last week, I had the pleasure of strolling the streets of NYC and I’ve decided there is nothing better than a vacation to NYC during the winter time. Strolling down 5th Ave in awe of the window displays from Anthropologie to Saks and Bergdorfs is every creative enthusiasts dream. #icouldmakethat. The Rockefeller Christmas tree at night with hot cider in one hand and my charming boyfriend in the other was just the icing on the cake. New York is a magical place and the lights during Christmas just amplify the beauty of this magical city.
