Got weekend plans?

IMG_6005Fact: Austin has had more rain this year than Portland AND Seattle!

If you live in Austin, or been keeping up with Al Roker lately, you’ve probably seen the torrential downpours we’ve been experiencing – and I’m not complaining. Mother Nature is getting us out of this drought and filling our lakes, just in time for summer board meetings (wake surfing Lake Austin).

So yes, thunderstorms are in our 7 day forecast, but I have just the thing to turn that frown upside down. Thankfully, with Austin being a maker + do’er city, there are a lot of events this weekend to keep your right brain moving and mildly dry. Clearly, I love crafting, art and anything in between, so if we’re on the same page, you’re in for a treat. Check out some of the events going on in Austin during this rainy weekend:

Renegade Craft Fair – Calling all DIY’ers! This event showcases makers of all kinds and you can even purchase your goods right away and bring them home to bae. From 11-6pm Saturday and Sunday, you’ll enjoy sipping mimosas and shopping for unnecessary home decor. Sounds pretty perfect to me!15708397124_4333a673f7_o-e1422383760991

West Austin Studio Tour – You’ve heard of the East Austin Studio Tour (and, well, hopefully the EAUFT), but for the 4th year, Big Medium has continued their efforts to support another great art/event/happening, that is the West Austin Studio Tour. Discover new artists and explore their studios in their self-guided tour, all west of I-35. Still unsure? It’s free.11205988_10153313148074036_4943282366283623188_n*Pick up your catalog from the Austin Public Library for a full list of events.

Holy Grail Vintage Pop Up Shop – Three designers curate quite the collection of antique gems at this pop up shop guaranteed to be a vintage lovers dream. Just look at their hashtag (#holygrailvintage) to lure you in before the shop opens at 11am this Sunday.11147583_10206654686306123_5753895710748460787_n

Spring Jazz Brunch – If you love brunch (because who doesn’t?) and jazz music, look no further than Hotel San Jose for their Spring Jazz brunch series. This is the second to the last before it’s over for summer, so consider this a must on your Saturday morning to do list.11174901_10152694070961673_8478790337935394725_n

TONIGHT! If you happen to be in Houston, check out my friend’s movie debut Echoes of War at AMC Dunvale 30 at 9pm. It won the Grand Prize Jury Award for best ensemble at the Dallas Film Festival, so you know it’s gonna be good ;)background

Happy Friday!!!!
