Fredericksburg Weekend.

This past weekend was a busy one, as mentioned in my prior post on the Modern Home Tour, but let me tell you it was non-stop F.U.N. One of my bests, Nicole, invited us to stay at her parent’s newly renovated fixer-upper (which I could totally just live in forever), in Fredericksburg for a little girls weekend of shopping and wine tasting. If you’ve never heard of this magical place, Fredericksburg is an old country town that has become quite the popular tourist destination due to all the wineries near by and adorable main street, which boasts antique shops and clothing galore.

If you’re looking for a fun weekend getaway, where you still totally feel like you’re on vacation, but really only an hour and half away, look no further. This would also be a great destination for that oh so important holiday coming up, if you haven’t made any plans yet ;) Here’s a peak inside our weekend shenanigans and a breakdown of some of my musts while in Fredericksburg and the surrounding area. Yee-haw!

Best wineries: Pedernales Cellers – such a great patio, Grape Creek Vineyards, Becker Vineyards – the whole property is just gorg!, William Chris Vineyards.SAMSUNG CSC

Chalkboard fun.

On weekends, I spend a few hours working at Mockingbird Domestics, just south of downtown Austin. This place is your one-stop-shop for locally sourced fine crafted furniture and home accessories. I love the modern meets rustic aesthetic of the store and REALLY enjoy getting crafty with the window displays and floor decor. Here I had a little chalkboard fun and created a warm fireplace to fit within the mantle near the front windows to show a little holiday cheer.

New York, New York.

Last week, I had the pleasure of strolling the streets of NYC and I’ve decided there is nothing better than a vacation to NYC during the winter time. Strolling down 5th Ave in awe of the window displays from Anthropologie to Saks and Bergdorfs is every creative enthusiasts dream. #icouldmakethat. The Rockefeller Christmas tree at night with hot cider in one hand and my charming boyfriend in the other was just the icing on the cake. New York is a magical place and the lights during Christmas just amplify the beauty of this magical city.
